I am listed above Huffington Post on Yahoo!
Okay, this is just a bit of bragging, but I love seeing referring URL’s on my website logs, because I can usually see what people search when they get to my site. This one is no different. Someone Yahoo’ed “facebook movie full trailer” and I am listed as the third website in search. I am listed before Huffington Post and Gizmodo and some other websites that I have never heard of. I am even listed before a Facebook Fan page. How epic is that?! It think it’s epic. So, let me now say this…I have experience with SEO (search engine optimization) and how search engines work, so I know that the reason this is happening is because the user’s search matched my title for the post word for word and for other sites it only matched select text in the story. None-the-less, I find this cool. Click for full screen view.
Anyone own websites and have you seen this before and though “this rocks?” Comment! Enjoy the weekend.
Looking for a place to blog?
Hola people of the Internet. This site has served a lot of things in the past. It used to be a total technology site, then it began hosting podcasts I produce, and now I turned it into a personal weblog to capture any aspect of my life. I want to transition it again into a place to allow guest bloggers. The site averages thousands of page views per month, which I find to be a great number for an audience. But, people get tired of posts coming from just one person, so, that’s where you come in. If you want your post to reach those readers then become a guest blogger on tylersmiller.com. It’s totally free and easy to do. You can post on anything you want. Tech, social media, YouTube videos, etc are all acceptable. Showcase your posts and personality to a growing crowd of readers. Your post will also be featured on my personal Twitter and Facebook feeds for more exposure. So, what do ya say? Wanna have a go at blogging? What do you have to lose?
More information can be found at http://www.tylersmiller.com/guest-writers/
If you are interested, please contact me and I will create you an account on the site for you to post.
I look forward to hearing from some readers and I look forward to some new content on the site! Take care.

Force Twitter Followers
In a world of bugs galore on websites, Twitter of course is involved in the mix. Today, a major bug was found that allowed tweeters to force another Twitter user to follow you. Your follower count could be raised in a matter of minutes! Unfortunately the bug has been resolved, for the most part, and now it does not work.
Before the bug was fixed, you could do the following, according to Lifehacker:
1. Open the Twitter web interface (I haven’t been able to get it to work in the apps I’ve tried)
2. Tweet “accept username”, as in “accept oprah”
3. Wait a few seconds. You may get a server error, but that means it’s worked.
4. Check your followers list

So, no longer can that be achieved, but still…what an awesome hack to find on Twitter. If the guy who discovered this kept it quiet long enough, he could build his Twitter following in a matter of days. It would involve a lot of manual work, but if someone wanted it strong enough, gaining a million users would be accessible.
Earlier today, Twitter reset a lot of user’s Twitter counts back to “0″ and is in the process of cleaning up the mess back to normal.
In the end…really Twitter… can you really just type “accept tylrsmllr” and then you are following you. Nice!
Interview with Claim.io Founders

I had the pleasure to interview the founders for a website and online service Claim.io. Claim.io is a website and service to claim your name and your brand across all Internet platforms. The service takes a specified username and registers you on over 300 sites on the Web. It basically takes the load off of you and gets your name and brand on websites and networks very fast and for close to nothing. It is a paid service, offering three different types of accounts. The website registrations are done 100% by humans and your information is safeguarded. Claim.io also offers an affiliate program, much like Amazon and Ebay. More on the affiliate program is at the end of the interview.
So, I now direct your attention to the following interview with Claim.io founders Arron Kallenberg and Sara Czyzewicz.
- Question: Simply put, what is Claim.io?
Answer: Claim.io, a service of Olive Interactive, LLC, secures your brand across 300 of the top social media and social networking sites. We register your vanity URL and username, as well as upload the initial content for your brand: logo or personal photo, biography, and a link-back to your website.
- Question: What type of consumer is Claim.io targeted at?
Answer: Claim.io’s consumers range from individual professionals to small-to-large large businesses. Anyone with a name or brand worth protecting would benefit from Claim.io’s services.
- Question: Who are the founders and what have been their previous projects on the Internet?
Answer: Arron Kallenberg and Sara Czyzewicz are the co-founders of Olive Interactive, LLC. Sara is a 10 year veteran of software strategy and development. She has worked with award-winning ad agencies and International R&D organizations building creative desktop and mobile solutions. She has a BA in Computer Science with honors, graphic design minor, and a New Media Certificate (ICPNM). You can find Sara on twitter as @Sara6633 and blogging on www.saraolive.com
- Question: When was Claim.io founded?
Answer: Claim.io (previously called ClaimMyName) was launched in July of 2009. It branched off of Olive Interactive’s initial product, DandyID, which was founded in April 2008. Claim.io uses social media usages statistics collected from DandyID to distinguish the top social sites at any present moment.
- Question: Where are your offices located?
- Question: I saw on the site that no bots are used in the process…how many people do you employ to register new users on the 300 services?
- Question: Are you looking to hire? If so, is there a certain job site with postings?
- Question: How is user privacy kept intact when handing over information such as names, birthdays, addresses, etc?
- Question: On the registration page, it states that your supplied email will not be used for registration. Just curious on how the end user will then be notified of email alerts from certain services in the future. How is ownership given back to the client?
- Question: Will there be a free account offered at any time in the future?
- Question: How long does it take to complete the 300 registrations per new user?
- Question: Can you explain your affiliate program? (My affiliate ID is: http://www.claim.io/welcome/?affiliate_id=182)
